It all started in 2013 when Jay-Z and Beyoncé announced that they would be trying a plant-based diet for 22 Days – the 22 Days Vegan Challenge. We were (and continue to be) so grateful to be a guide for them during their Challenge. And we are in awe of how their 22 Days Vegan Challenge inspired thousands around the world to do their own Challenge. The 22 Days Vegan Challenge is a commitment to challenge yourself to 22 days of a plant-based diet. Why 22 days? It is founded on the principle that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit and by day 22, you’ve created a new healthy habit.

What Do I Eat and Drink on the 22 Days Vegan Challenge?

During your 22 Days Vegan Challenge, you’ll satisfy your hunger with vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, whole grains and beans. You’ll enjoy 3 meals a day plus snacks (if you need them) and you’ll be amazed at how satiating a plant-based diet really can be. While on your Challenge, we want you to avoid all animal products (includes meats, dairy, eggs and honey) processed foods, gluten and soy. To hydrate yourself during your Challenge, drink plenty of water. You can also drink unsweetened herbal teas and water with lemon. Avoid caffeinated beverages and alcohol. Remember, this is a Challenge, so you want to focus on giving your body the best nutrition you can!
