Alejandro's 22 Days Vegan Success Story
This week’s 22 Days Vegan Success Story comes from Alejandro Sepulveda, an engineering student from Mexico who is currently studying in the United States. We discovered Alejandro on Instagram. His daily photos of his transformation during his 22 Days Vegan Challenge are inspirational! We reached out to Alejandro to learn more about the success he had with his Challenge. Here’s what he had to say.
22 Days Nutrition: Tell us, which 22 Days Vegan Challenge program did you follow?
Alejandro: I followed The 22-Day Revolution.
22D: Why did you choose to try a 22 Days Vegan Challenge?
AS: Because I'm a big fan of Beyoncé and Jay-Z and I heard that they lost weight easily with a 22 Days Vegan Challenge. I tried too many times to lose weight in an easy way and it was impossible. Then I started with the challenge and it changed my life.
22D: Tell us a little bit about your average day.
AS: I eat what it says in the book, or sometimes I make my own recipes, I love the greens and grains, and you don't really need to eat meat, you feel really great and you have energy all day long.
22D: How has following a 22 Days Vegan Challenge impacted your life?
AS: I’ve always wanted to stop eating animals, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm just 22 years old and I wanted to do something that would lead to a healthy future for me. I'm grateful because I feel confident like I never have before. Also, my friends started to follow the recipes and meal plans in The 22-Day Revolution. They bought the book because they were surprised about how quickly I saw changes in my body.
I feel great now, knowing that I'm a role model to my friends and that they want to do the same. I also started a Facebook Group to help support my friends who are challenging themselves.
22D: How much weight have you lost? What other health improvements have you seen?
AS: By day 22, I had lost 21 pounds. Now, after 43 days, I have lost 38.9 pounds! I used to have pain in my knees, and I read something about triglycerides and how it’s from eating too much meat. That pain literally disappeared with this diet. I feel awesome now. 22D: What words of encouragement do you have for others who are getting started or are considering getting started with a 22 Days Vegan Challenge? AS: Try it - it's very easy, and we need to do something good for our lives. I'm young and I feel so great with the change, you can also do it, believe me, it is the best thing that ever happened to me. I tried too many things for weight loss and it didn't work. This really works, and I'm so grateful for it. Encourage yourselves to do this. Thank you Alejandro! We are so happy for you and the amazing results you’ve had!
